I call it 'anal-ysis' on my part
One other thing. Dimentionally the GBE changes size from the start to the end of the manga in width, length and height. The largest probably being in the final pages of the manga.
I'm inclined to believe that the overall length of the GBE measures about heel to fingertip of Killy's hand. It's anyone's guess exactly how long that is.
I mention this because I've seen more than a couple GBE 3D models and mockups done with HUGE dimentions. Yet it's clear that Killy's GBE is a very compact weapon.
*Additional note* it's possible that the grip design of Killy's GBE shares commonality with the one on Sanakan's handheld unit. Last page of Issue 51 for reference. Note that the backplate on the emitter housing on her gun is a differant design than that on Killy's.

If you decide to tackle the gun electronically as a special effects piece, I would suggest the following;
1. All electronics are off until the grip safety is depressed.
2. On depression, the two blue lights on the front of the dust cover light up. (I suggest LEDs.)
3. The power level interface at the back is controlled via the thumb switches. Default is level 1.
4. The emitter itself lights up on trigger pull.
Doing the 5th power level setting on the GBE would be going above and beyond

I saw the pics where it expands and extends. That's kinda spiffy. A superbright red L.E.D. would be good in the barrel.
Thank for your help. I was really at a loss since the illustrations are so frequently different.
I'm going to look for issue 52 this weekend.

No problem The quality of your work is pretty sweet, I look forward to your prototypes.
There is a small schematic in the Blame! and so on artbook. I'd reccomend upscaling that for dimentional reference.

I saw some sketches of the front, side, and back.
I blew them up to what strikes me as full size and made a schematic. Thats where I saw the round thing that looks like it might be a button. Next to the round thing is a square thing that also may be a button....hence my appealing to you all for advice.

Here is the grip. Still missing some surface grip detail that will be added today.
It is scaled down from the drawing seen in the picture. I sized by referring to one of the HK pistols. The pictures show the gun never quite looking the same so I am going by a composite that I like.
Thoughts?

The grip is likely to be a bit narrower than your typical pistol being that the grip of the GBE will not need to accomodate a magazine. It looks like you got the shape coming along though
Keep it up!
