the following music file came from one of the tracks in Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex anime.......
there may be lyrics, but for me, this is the kind of mood and feel of Blame. expressionless, repetitiveness, emotionless, powerless, sadness, complexness.... and for some reason, listening to this song gives me the vision of layers over layers of steel and metal......
i know i may have sounded silly, with contradictions in my description, but the impact Blame carries is undescribable and unspeakable. i could not find better words.
anyway..... since it was sang by a female, i think this song suits Cibo's theme quite well.....
Hope you guys could make time to download this song.
i know this song is from a completely different, unrelated manga/anime (which is still good, recommended), but i'd LOVE to see Cibo sing this.................. like a lonely sad littel girl........ (me runs away).........

At Anime Reactor Tsutomu Nihei mentioned that he hated the music for the anime and that his favorite band is korn.

For Blame!s futuristic cyber world I think that best music would be electronic... Psy-trance or HC techno. Light and futuristic psy in behind most of the time and with fast and agressive techno when action begins. Considering OVAs there will surely be some freakin annoying sounds (there was one that is more killing than trafo buzz from Lain... and that was mind braking sound for me...
Anyway I really don`t see rock or heavy metal music for such a world.
When I read Blame! best fitting music for me is Paul Oakenfold or Dave Clark... try and test it... ^^

Berserker, thanks! What Nihei work are you referring to? Could you please give me the according link, too? Downloading the mp3 now...wow 11 MB! For a MP3 that's pretty much. Download is fast though.
July, I totally agree with you. Nevertheless there is no song or sound in Lain that I dislike. But I really hope a BLAME! movie (if there will ever be one) won't have a soundtrack made by Korn or something similar...
Now listening to Velveteen. Great quality, now I see why it's so big. I really like it! Thanks again for sharing, Berserker!

what about front line assembly or some of raymond watt's "instrumental" stuff.
...beats the hell out of nine inch nails or tool (barf)
the "nightmare" musics from silent hill 2 were pretty sweet too

Tool would fit perfectly.Dark, moody, mystical music but also heavy and harsh.Lateralus would fit better than Aenima.I recommend the 12th song, the instrumental Triad.
P.S .No Bolt Thrower as soundtrack.Too distracting, man.(they are very good though.)Electronic music would be excellent also.
