I'm sure many of you have noticed that as Killy's many appearances change during the story, so do his various outfits and suits. At first, he starts off with something that looks like a leather outfit, or rags if you would want to call it that. But the more we read and the closer we get to the end of the story, the more high-tech equipment does he wear, such as the 'Rayford' suits, which are covered with small tubes, cables and various plates, possibly armour. What I've been wondering for quite some time is; 1)Where does he find these suits? 2)What are their functions? What's with all the cables, tubes with red liquid (seen in the artbook 'Blame and so on')? 3)Why are there various name tags/inscriptions on the suits? And why is 'Rayford' written on these tags? What the hell is Rayford? Please post your thoughts, ideas or anything that might be a known fact. |

as far as i know rayford is a japanese cloth brand. maybe some hidden sponsoring..? |

Actually it's Playford. And yes, it is a japanese brand of clothing. I guess Nihei just likes those clothes, and he thought it'd be funny to put a reference in there. |

Yeah. I noticed Killy has gone trhough a number of costume changes. Right now I'm working on a Killy costume and I had a hard time figuring out what to do. I based it on the action figure, though kept the color black, and a number of designs from the artbook and later parts of the manga. I was aiming for that later suit with all the cables and junk on it. Though the vinyl jacket I helped a friend make for me came a bit less form fitting due to the pattern and a bit like the outfit we first see him in. Still aiming for the later design even if it's not as tight. As for that suit, I thought he picked it up after wandering around Domochevsky's area. As for the other suits, we really don't know a timeline for the story, so who knows how he made or found them. It's a giant wasteland. I can only imagine what he can find. -Xenos |

You're quite right on that, The Xenos, we don't really know a timeline for the story, but apart from that, why does he remodel his suits? (If that's what he does) What I'm trying to find out is what the functions of his various suits are, why so many tubes with red liquid? Blood that is being circulated somewhere else, into some other pump? Maybe an adrenaline processor? What are the various functions, do you think? I'd like to hear theories, as many as possible. |

Part of his self healing process too I believe, after the Level 9 event, he lost quite a bit of body mass (and undoubtedly his clothing) so the repair mode must've also created clothes. |

I think he founds the clothes somewere, I don't have the manga right here so I can't really say, but, there's a part when killy and cibo enter Toha Heavy Industries that they found armor/clothes like those that Seu wears, so there must be other places with armors and clothes |
