Hello all --

This summer has been a very good one. I was given the freedom to work on some personal projects that mean a lot to me. One of these projects is what has become the Megastrata - an experiment that has started turning into a potentially full-blown Megastructure environment game.



I am not the first to attempt such a thing, and procedural world generation is a hot topic at the moment. However, I still believe there is something novel to this approach, and it will remain under active development.

At the moment, the program consists of a control panel in which you can manipulate infinite noise patterns, layer them, and produce intricate architecture that never repeats and goes on forever.

A Windows executable is available, as well as one for OS X (albeit a problem with rendering). The entire source is also free to download.





Please note that the Megastructure in question may or may not be related to the Blame! world. It is certainly not endorsed by Nihei in any form.

This being a highly-respected and relevant forum, I would be be honored to hear your thoughts or suggestions.
