"The Void" is a really strange game.
You are in some kind of death dimension in that colors are the biggest treasure. You must collect colors and plant trees to get more. Hard to describe.
It is one of this new "Art"-style games like "Flower" or "Linger in the Shadows" (PS3).
I didn“t played it for longer, but it is worth to test.
If you want to play something intelligent, try BRAID.
Seems simple, but gets really challenging.

Uhm...mods really are something, think about all the people who plays
counter-strike, what'll be of them without that mod???xD
Well, doing a mod of Blame! will be pretty difficult depending of the objectives. But i think just seeing Killy or a silicon creature moving and firing a gun or using one of its parts as a melee weapong it's worth the effort. Maybe the project is still on-going as the page still exists??
Also making a game of any of Nihei's universes will be pretty cool but hard to imagine an engine that can work with the GBE...>.<
