A Polish artist which precedes Giger, he was like Nihei, an architekt. and he's véry popular in Japan. hard to imagen that Nihei doesnt know about him, in fact, I think that the cover of his artbook; the pinkish hall with floating staircase, is based on the world of Beksinski... then again I might be wrong ![]() Follow the linkl, so you can decide fot yourself ![]() this is the official page http://www.beksinski.pl/ and this is the wikki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beksinski and as an extra, the page from witch I found the link http://www.darklinks.com/darkart.html this forum is waaay too quit, I realy should post more stuff here ![]() |

Great find Leterel. Nehei's art art is somewhat similar, though I question whether this is simply because they attempt to create the same atmsphere as opposed to one being influenced by the other. |

Well, indeed, it's unproven that there is a link, As a matter of a fact, I am still searching ![]() ![]() from one artist to another... I really have to take a closer look at his work for comparison, But I gues it will be very hard to find real proof, since Nihei doesn't just copy, He digests it, and gives it his own flair... Stil, there comes an image to mind, you know one of the caves in Toha industries?, the one infested -or colonized- by silicon life, does resembles one of beksinski's paintings, the one with the colums, on which some kind of gollum like people gather... can be a coincidence too of course ![]() |

I also thought Beksinski might have been an influencel... Interestingly, there is a possible connection with one of Nihei's characters. A Polish-turned-French man who has tried to popularize Beksinski's work and wrote a book about him, is Piotr Dmochowski. Site: http://www.dmochowskigallery.net/piotr.php ![]() |

Although I'm a fan of both Beksiński and Nihei, I didn't really make any substantial connection between them at first. However, when I viewed the BLAME! and so on artbook again, I was really struck by how the cover resembles some of Beksiński's work. I still can't believe Zdzisław is dead... |

I think I found final proof: Zdzislaw Beksinski, 1974: Tsutomu Nihei, NOiSE chapter 2, page 47: Pretty much identical, aren't they? |

Oh great, we should really put all those finds in a special topic (I mean to archive those finds, and the topic would be locked except for those finds) then eventually put all that on wikipedia. |

That's a very nice find. The little strip of cloth hanging over the edge of the cradle/box pretty much confirms it, I think – the hooded figure could have been a coincidence, but details like that in the same image couldn't be accidental. There may well be more little tributes like that in there. Particularly in that little sequence right at the end, where there's a few nonsensical pages involving the silicon life growing their young and such. |
