Now, I recently finished playing through the story campaign of the Bungie developed game "Destiny" and besides the obviously stylized homage of H.R. Giger's work exhibited in the lavish backgrounds in the game, I consistently got Nihei Vibes.
Now, there could be several factors to work here; whether it's the knowledge that Nihei is a self confessed Halo fanatic and even illustrated a comic for their first 'Halo' graphic novel, or maybe it has to do with there being a gun (while not really resembling the ones from BLAME!) named the Graviton.
I didn't follow the development of the game and through mild internet searching I haven't found any connection between Nihei and Destiny, but who knows.
I'm sure the guys in charge of the art design had a variety of influences, and it's probably not completely unlikely Nihei was one of them.
any thoughts?
