who's the little girl? why dosen't she attack killy?

are you referring to the little girl that totalled the three soldiers? i dont have my scans here in fron of me?
if so i think the general opinion is that shes a safegaurd. she doesnt attack killy because she is instructed to kill only humans without the NTG. this is interesting because it gives you a little insight into the fact that killy isnt human at all even though in the beginning it seems that he is. anywho the little kid is a SG type that pretends to be human to get into a colony and then activates and wipes them all out. like that movie SCREAMERS. god i hated that movie....

I HIGHLY doubt that the kid is a Safeguard.

For one, if Nihei wanted us to think it was a Safeguard, it would have the Safeguard symbol on it somewhere.

Second, I think it didn't kill Killy because Killy didn't kill it. It didn't really have anything against Killy, but the other people were trying to kill it, so it killed them instead. That's nothing unusual.

Third, it gave information about people to Killy in a non-hostile manner. The kid acts human, not like the machine-like ways of the Safeguard.

And also, for the rest of the series, Safeguards are trying to kill Killy. So it would be really out of place if this child really was a Safeguard, and didn't kill him.

So if the child isn't a SG, what is it? Does it have anything to do with the kid that was following Killy in the beginning? When the kid gets its head blown off, it comes back later healed. Did it get fixed, or are there lots of random children wandering around on those lower levels?

Someone on a french board said that maybe Nihei started BLAME! without knowing everything exactly. Maybe he had the main plot and blah, but maybe he wasn't really sure what the Safeguards are, what the silicon creatures are, etc etc.
This could explain why this child would a safeguard, but doesn't really looks like one.
Also the first 2 Silicon Creatures are more metal, or cyber, or whatever, than all the others, as if his mind about their style wasn't really final.

After a long time to think about it, I think that the kid is a simple mutated-human.

I made a fairly long post about Killy's functions, about why he was the way he was at the beginning. I didn't mention anything about the GBE, but it's fairly obvious that as he grows in his abilities, so does the GBE, thus meaning it draws power off the user.
