My two cents would be: we see that while creating the Recreator, some space-time errors did occur. Like Zouichi, Higuide fell from above, but maybe "our" time now, with Zouichi and so on, is not his "real" time after the big incident? One of the last panels shows a time exposure of the starry sky (the semicircular lines), that indicates elapsed time. Maybe he travelled further into the future.
After all, it was a strange chapter but not too bad. Like a one shot, like a Nihei- fairy tale. And its a little analogy, the whole chapter tells us the Zouichi-Recreator-arc in fast forward...

in 36, Funipero also uses the "getting invisible and having black veins"-trick to travel a very long distance (she already knows the place, while Kanoe Fuji cant see it yet). She can use it quite properly but like her other tricks, it consumes a lot of her energy. And then... this huge mecha sure did go down fast.
