Do you believe that Biomega is a prequel or a separate continuity? Things to note:
-The monster that ate Zouichi's motorcycle is similar to the monster that made it's appearance in blame volume 8.
-The cable thing that the recreator made can conceivably be the back bone to the megastructure.
-Blatant similarities between the weapons and some factions.
So what do you guys think?

There seem to be a lot of people on this board who think that Biomega is a prequel to Blame!.
I believe its NOT a prequel.
First of all i think it would be totally lame if it is.
Second i think Noize prooves that Biomega cant be a prequel.
About the similarities: i said it before and i say it again, its Nihei´s style.
Insect inspired monsters and robots are nothing new in manga culture.
What other monsters would you expect on a newly created world that is bio(mega) ?
And what other similarities are there betwen the matter conversion tower generated bug that Davinel used for his trap and the bug that lives on the cable and tried to eat Zouchi´s bike ???
So Zouichi´s gun looks similar to Killy´s GBE because of the box design ?
There arent so many ways you can draw a convincing futuristic gun...
the shapes may be similar but the functions are totally different. Killy´s gun uses superscience that manipulates gravity in some way, while Zouichi´s gun is a coil gun that uses an electric charge to shoot bullets....
About Toha...
Nihei has a lot of references in his work, from "Alien" to "Hellraiser" and now even "Nausicaa". If Toha was named "Weyland Yutani" instead, would you then believe Biomega is happening in the "Alien" universe ??
No alien turned up in Blame! but there was the space jockey homage to "Alien"....

i believe it is.
because:
A: why would they have robots that build and build? to rebuild a new world after a certain happening that fucked it over good? like in Biomega? no? yes? and in the english translation of BLAME! the SC-life that is just observing inside the HUGE sphere said that it used to contain liquid building material used by the builders, which may have been that big biomega cable broken down to rebuild the world. heck the megastructure might even be built AROUND that cable? i mean that would explain the levels.
B: i still stand by my theory of the Safeguard made cyborgs (Killy and Sana-Kan) being of the same "model" or technology as Zouichi and his family, perhaps that is why Toha has "immunity" to the Safeguard and the Authority in BLAME, because they gave a trade! (and with that said, i still believe Sana-Kan and Killy where, cyborged up at the same time and place, and then had like training together!)
