Actualy. I have a question now. Why is the guy who transformed the builders dying? Why is he plugged into that machine?

One of those Blame mysteries that might never be solved, like why that machine was generating clones forever... I don't even know if he was dead or not... (he certainly looked it).

Maybe the builders tried to make him survive cuz they were created or programed or something by him, and I think that dinossaur-looking builder wich acompany the little cibo for some time is one of them, those builders had personality and like sanakan said he could even lie so maybe they could show emotions like love and tried to save their creator

i think ´the guy plugged himself on the machine, when he could actually move.
The woman with the cloning machine seems to have the same fate, just a little different.
I think the most charakters in "BLame!" just don't want to die and try everythink to stay alive. You can see this, when Killy first meets Cibo, (when she is really scelleton like xD) she too were just waiting there, rotting, until Killy came and helped her.
So the >Guy< tryed to make some machines, that are somehow human, cause he was all alone (and he probatly has not the ability or the strenght to walk around millions of kilometer like Killy) and then he died, cause he were even for the machine too old to be kept alive.
I think the "woman" with the clones tried to stay alive, by cloning herself, but she realized to late:
1. even if her clones wer kept alive, she will die once...
2. her clones aren't really like herself, cause nobody teached them.
Killy said he had "seen somthink like this before" and shot the woman. I think he did that, cause the will of living of the woman is absolutly senseless, and because the woman isn't really >alive< anymore, i think she wants to die herself (but can't kill herself, because she is too weak)
Killy knew this and shot her, to stop this madness
