Post subject: | Final Thoughts on Biomega? |
Although Biomega's storytelling is flawed, it is certainly an interesting story (imo). Despite the fact that I found we needed to work out most of Biomega ourselves, once that was done and apparently finished with, I decided that overall I had enjoyed the story and found it original and refreshing (and pretty creative). Just wondering about what others here thought about it now that we've finally been able to see how it ends (translated). Did you enjoy or not? |

i liked it a lot. i think that many of the problems with the story came due to the lack of translation and speed of it. if i would be to read everything translated, by someone who works as a translator or something, in one go, i would understand a whole lot more. it had its lacks but i found it an interesting read with some good ideas |

For all the flaws biomega had and has, it is first, and foremost still a Nihei story, and that alone counts a lot for me, as in it is certainly more original, creative, sophisticated and entertaining than 90 percent of the usual fairy tail or naruto crap. I would still rate it a solid B. I just hope, that he will get back on track with knights of cydonia. |

I sort of already ranted about this, but I feel that the transition from gritty scifi-with-zombies to Nausicaa-styled semi-fantasy was a bit too rocky. I understand his desire to explore different genres and not repeat himself, but Nihei really dropped the ball plot-wise. I don't mean to sound too negative, though, because I still find Biomega a lot of fun to read throughout--badass characters, great action, zombies, and enough detailed environments to give me an architectural orgasm. I just pretend it's not meant to be one linear story. |
