Alright, so yesterday, I lay in my bed, trying to sleep... (which didn't go very well) and a thought popped in my head. In log 65 (or 64... depending on if you go by Omanga or what is written inside the manga), there's a moon in the sky. Or a sun. You know, when she tries to wake the inhabitats up, and meet the AI of a toy. That place. Now, in NOiSE, it's said that at one point, even the moon was integrated in the megastructure. So it must be the sun. But it's so dark! Even for Nihei. To me, the time of the day isn't day. It's night. And the person (whoever she is), says to the AI that "since everybody's asleep... I thought I'd wait here until morning comes." Isn't that interesting? It must be night. Or is it really this simple; that the place is only in the Netsphere? The large creature say this when he's talking to the girl. That it's an abandoned, temporary storage-place for people who have lost their physical bodies or for those who have damaged records. And when the time comes, they'll know for sure that Killy has fixed the malfunctions in the Netsphere. But why is the moon (or sun) there, if that's the case? To strengthen the image of a real world to the inhabitats? But they're sleeping, and'll never wake up (unless Killy delivers the sphere)! What's the function of the moon/sun, then? Argh. Please help me with this one, people - and if it's already been answered, please bear with me. Thank you. ![]() |

As the big, er, thing says, it's a backup reality. In other words, it's sorta like cyberspace, and she (can't remeber name) is no longer in the real Megastructure. It's like how the Netsphere appears as a meadow in the flashback Cibo has. |

It's quite interesting to think about. We know that no one alive remembers how the world was before the Megastructure, but the Netsphere could hold all sorts of logs and information about the unspoiled Earth. The "backup reality" would've been built from that information, or perhaps even built during a time when there was a moon in the sky. |

The Netsphere has ALWAYS been portrayed as.. an Earth that was not fused with Technology. Every scene of Netsphere we've seen..all of it is -always- pure..not mechanical. When Cibo tries an illegal attempt to log into the Netsphere, what do we see? A grass field, something that would be -unheard- of in base reality. Also, when Sanakan returns to the Netsphere to get a second chance in base reality, we see oneof the Governing Agency standing in a form of a castle..or structure, that has nothing technological. And the backup space of the Netsphere has all the things Earth used to have..only..alot of it is very warped and distorted. The base reality moon was integrated into the Megastructure, yes. In the Artbook it is said that the Megastructure reaches the orbit of Jupiter. However, the back up cyber-space is not related to the base reality, and -can- have a Moon, which does not exist in base reality, as well as other things..such as tree's, grass, soil, that also do not exist in base reality. So, it's feasable to say..It's a moon, and they're allowed to have it =) |
