Blame! can be too bleak for most people, even those who claim to be big into Cyberpunk.
Most people's ideas of cyberpunk lie closer to The Matrix (ugh). It's like getting a trekkie to read REAL science fiction

For all those interested in cyberpunk i'd say William Gibson's novels would a good place to start.
