yes, thats the end of it. i recommend you to reread (more than twice) it so you can make your own explanation of the facts. in this forum you will find lots of conversations about it... but i think it could spoil the fun of rereading it. sorry for not giving you a concrete answer, but it seems that this is the policy here. ask any old member and he'll say: reread it, put attention to these parts, etc. thats because blame is not the old cliché about sci-fi like asimov's best sellers and that classic stuff. blame has a dozen of hidden messages and that's the fun about it. normal sci-fi wont let you have a clue of whats going on. that's why i think that blame is much more of some sort of oniric genre than brute sci-fi... well, thats IMHO. good luck rereading ![]() |

Hi Juliano, im not sure i understand all you ask. A lot has been dicussed already on the board but ill try to answer the questions i see anyway. I dont think you miss any pages, Blame!10 gets a bit abstract in the end. Its a bit like fast forwarding, Nihei narrates the story in a different, maybe a bit abrupt way. I think Killys journey could fill easily another 10 volumes, but in a way that would repeat everything over and over again. So Nihei changes style and fast forwards to the end, or at least thats my impression.... Where Killy lost his leg we dont know exactly, but when he enters the next level of the structure through the hole (probably done by his GBE), he is injured, bleeding and missing his lower leg. So probably there was some fight going on, maybe a bit like when Cibo and Killy entered the next level through a hole Killy made. Someone seems to be following him, and then he shoots down the hole and coming with the explosion, there is a severed head landing on the ground, so that was probably the enemy he fought....but thee is also someone else following. Someone, whos face we dont see, but i think its Killy´s "twin". About the part with the trees and stuff. Thats an electronic place called temporary storage area. Its for people who have damaged records or lost physical bodies. There is a bit of controversy on the board if that girl is Cibo or Mori. I think its Cibo, but its not completely clear. Now, about the end. I think most people, including me, believe Killy reached the end of the megasphere. And like Sanakan said, before she died, the embryo growing in the Level9 sphere can only fully develop in a non contaminated place. Then there is some controversy if Killy dies in the end or not. I think he does because he reaches the end of his mission. The guy who shoots Killy in the head, the safeguard without any hair, i think that is another version of Killy, his "twin", because they both look similar excecpt the hair.... Maybe that is some kind of metaphor, that Killy must defeat himself before he can reach his end. I dont know, its vague, and we will probably never know. So thats all i can tell you, hope it helps. You should read some threads of the board, because, as i said, some things have already been discussed. |

I'm almost positive killy lives. He probably got his leg hacked off in a battle just prior to arriving on the current level, and wasn't able to retrieve it (he's reattached his limbs several times in the comic, but he always has to FIND them first, maybe this time he wasn't so lucky) Anyway, he floats into the uncontaminated waters and the embryo hatches, and he watches it, then it cuts to him with a child behind him in a respirator. I think the little one in the gas mask is the grown-up embryo so Killy's new mission is protecting the young child of Cibo and Sanakan. Make sense? |

Any way, I dont like that Nihei let SANAKAN and CIBO terminate at the end. SANAKAN is one of my most favourite chara. I hope she has more performance in Anime version. |

In some points I have a different oppinion to Esper, and i would write it now, but i liked what Julian Camus said. (That should not mean "i am better than Esper who tells his oppinion immediatly to everyone"!! ![]() Reread Blame! and when you have your own theories, post them here, we will discuss them! Dont think of anything what other people said, at first make your own impression. Because of the discussions in this forum, some "actions" are quite plain now, but others still ask for an answer... e.g. What is it with Killys eye, like this forum- logo shows? Some time before, on the great pillar, he lost it, but then its back there, mysteriously twinkling (that is something I want to know...) but damn: i cant resist to make one statement, i think, Killy flows to the surcafe of the water, and beyond that is the uncontaminated space. |
