Right now I'm working on a Killy costume for Otakon. It shall be my first cosplay. There are a number of designs, so I was aiming for the outfit similar to Domochevsky's that Killy wears as well as the action figure design.

I bought the vinyl pants because I stumbled upon the perfect pair in my size and half off. I helped a friend of mine make the jacket as he made a vinyl Vash coat for his first cosplay and hit it out of the park. That inspired me to get off my ass and do this. Also a friend of mine cut the plastic and got electronics for the gun. Unfortunatly on his way back from his home in VA, he didn't bring bring the gun back to finish and photograph as the bis he did glue were still drying.

Right now I gotta get stuff together to stick on the jacket. You know all the techno stuff like wires. I have an old art project of a ripped apart phone and other junk I'm cannibalizing for parts. I made the shoulder pad out of sculpty. If we get exerimenting with plastic, I might try and make one out of that just in cause the clay is too breakable. Plus I have patches of vinyl we sewed that I have to hand sew onto the jacket and a part or two on the jacket that was too thick for the machine.

Oh and if I have time.. I want a prop head of one of those robots that everyone says the I, Robot film ones look like from chapter one.

I hope to get the costume done in the next couple of weeks. If anyone wants photos of it so far an in progress, I can take them.

Well, I took some photos of the unfinished costume so far. I have to add a lot of details and gizmos. I also need to cut my hair and get bangs. I did just shave my beard for it. The gun is only an unpainted basic shell, but when it's done it should light up. A friend who makes props designed it from my designs of the gun. SO here it is so far. I really need to get working on it and finish it.

looks quite cool, though the contrast is a bit too low to make out any details of the costume... what are you going to light the gun with? some cheap laser pointer? or LEDs? i think white or blue LEDs would look quite cool.

Thanks for the comments. I finally started finsihing up the jacket today. Just sewing patches and spots the machine couldn't get though. I hand sewed part of the colar that was too thick for the machine and some other parts. I also did some of the patches that were only taped on in the photos. I also stabbed msyelf in the thumb and bled on the collar, so now i have put my blood and sweat into it. Haven't cried though, so no tears.

Now I just need to add wire and techno crap on the jacket and get some pads for the pants. I made one from clay for the shoulder, but not sure how to paint it.

As for lighting up the gun, we picked up some small bulbs and electronics from Radio Shack. My roomate knows how to put it together, so he told me what parts to get. The lights are plain white, but we got a plastic layer that's red below the lines in the gun. Intread of doing the whole cylinder inside, it's a bit more boxy, but it's so we can fit lights and electronics inside.

Crap! One more day before we leave for Otakon! Though I may have some time tomorrow to work on things as we are going to a Red Sox game in Baltimore and saying with my friend who's making the gun.

Mainly I gotta add eyelet holes for some wires and metal bits. Gotta add a few more decals. Oh and I gotta pick up some kneepads

Now the most work I gotta do is on this extra prop. I'm making the severed head (and some neck) of one of the silicon creatures. Might as well make it a safeguard too.

Plus, if I have time and figure out how to do it, I want to make a 'Mori' pendant. If only to make the lame joke that I spend Tuesdays with him.

Also, one of the cool ideas I had was a tube with red food coloring for like recirculated blood or something. I belive someone here was saying somehting about Killy's suit and said that maybe some of the tubes circulated body fluids, so that gave me that idea for what to do with the tube.

Well I got the costume done and wore it at Otakon. Two people reconized me and one got excited and really liked it. I also had a cute random girl, coming from the dance I think, ask for a hug. I couldn't help but oblige. Though I don't think she reconized the costume, but I don't think either of us cared.

Anyway, as you can read int he descritions, the gun dind't quite finish up like we wanted and I didn't quite get my hair to stick right, but it came out pretty good.
