Gantz - Story has been improving recently, plot twists etc.

Berserk - Same here, good story and excellent action

Dragonball - The original Dragonball is definitely a classic!

Naruto, Bleach - Started out good, now just getting tedious and pointless (Bleach has better art in its favour though)

Flame of Recca - Fun shounen action manga.

Battle Angel Alita - The original series was good, Last Order is even better.

Masumune Shirow's other manga are also worth reading like Appleseed, Dominion Tank Police etc.

Akira - Another sci-fi epic! Must read!

fruits basket - vampire knight - vampire girl - girl got game - merupuri - NANA
i'll stop before this gets too embarresing. it's just that sometimes, i get this craving for cute shoujo. dont ask.
vampire girl is a really good manga, though. wonderfull drawings, and not too girlie. ( and duh, it's got vampires!)

then there is my all time favourite: hitsuji no uta, or lament of the lamb. dark, depressing, and --- vampirism, as an illness in a family. a 7 vol complete manga by kei toume.
mpd psycho -- wow, amazing amazing. i love this manga, and an a lucy monostome fan to no end.
goth -- good enough, but it somehow annoys me. guur.. wannabe..
death note -- wonderfull, even amazing - untill the series had gone halfway. ( you see what i mean, i do not want to spoil you) ooh, how L could make me laugh just by eating a banana. .. eatin candy wrapper.. drinking tea.. *dreaming away* ohch! snap out of it!


looks like i allowed just a few of the mangas have read to appear on this list. i belive more mangas does deserve a place there, but they seem to have dissappeared from my mind. huumm.. seeing that i am the first person to post shoujo manga in this thread, please do remember that i am not a girlie girlie kind of girl, i just enjoy some cute ligt reading once in a while. ... too much, and i need an heavy dose of wolverine or mpd- psycho. .. or sin sity.. or jhonny the homicidal maniac or.. ahh... i should stop.. this is mangas you asked about, ne.

Blame! kind of spoiled me for manga, and really comic books in general. The only other series I'm reading (and is tied with Blame! for favorite) is CLaymore. When I was whining about how I couldn't find anything good to read/watch after Blame some random internet person recommended it to me.

It's disturbing, bleak, and filled with awesome characters (but don't get too attached to them... ).
