Read Snow Crash by Neil Stephenson. It's the epitome of cyberpunk. |

One thing I've found is that the term 'cyberpunk' is very, very broad. This means that you can get away with just about anything. My attepted definition: Anything set in the future (science fiction) which portrays it in a desprate or imperfect light. In cotrst to traditional science fiction, cyberpunk borders on apocalyptic, with the human race often in peril or rife with injustice. Technology such as cybernetics (eletroni appendages), cyborgs, nanomachines, or cyberspace are often featured. Anything I missed? |
