Fujimoto Tatsuki's Fire Punch is an interesting read that reminded me so strongly of Blame! That I have to recommend it. I love how I can't even find a proper genre name for it. It's absurd, grim, comedic, action packed and bleak in that good old old-school-Nihei fashion, where even the story of a knight and a princess in love doesn't evoke any sort of light emotion. Like Nihei the chapters are either too busy being great art pieces or developing the plot: I feel sad that I've become so used to other manga that try to extend themselves to be as long as possible rather than being actual good narratives. It's also vulgar as hell. Fun stuff. Seinen makes manga progress imo. Try this out. Trust me it's good. |
