Héhé, but I've already seen Bebop and Champloo^^

But maybe more than action, EP lacks intensity, I mean emotional intensity.
I find the part in Blame 1, with the 2 guys waiting for the doctor to be infinitly more emotionally intense and desperate than all the part out of Romdeau in EP.
Sure those poor guys live in crappy town, the sky is always grey, etc etc, but they don't seem so desperate.
Also all the second hand characters die but you don't feel anything for them. That kid drawing with Pino, check, that chick looking like an american comic character, check, the old man taking Vincent's place or something, check, all the other on board the hovercraft ship, check. Everybody who should die is dead ? ok let's move to the next part of the story. In Bebop (as well as Champloo) you could feel pain for a character dying while you knew him for only 1 episode, in EP you know them for 5 episodes, and when they die you (don't even care.)
And those who don't die are droids unable to feel pain (Pino, Iggy) or at least they don't show it that much, or "cold hearted" characters (Deadalus isn't really that emotive...)

And still, the pace doesn't work for me. It happens in some movies too. Pirates of the Caribbean for instance. I'm used to another pirates movie (Pirates, by Polansky), and so when watching Pirates of the Caribbean, I thought the whole movie would be about chasing the Black Pearl (can't remember the name) to save the chick, crossing oceans and all. But no, 5 minutes later the heroes reach the island, then lot of fight (a lil' too much). That's an unexpected developement that just let me like "uh ?! wait, I've been there for only 5 minutes !". The film was cool, mostly because of Johny Depp's excentric character, but it was lacking mmh... substance ?
On the other hand, a movie like The Adventures of Baron Munchausen is the opposite, in 2 hours, you jump from place to place, epoch to epoch, and you feel like the movie you just saw was in fact 5 hours long (in a good way).
And so, I have the feeling what we've seen so far in EP could be packed in half the actual number of episodes Maybe just cuz' I'm used to Bebop & CHamploo, and was expecting something different.

Well maybe all those philosophic refrences and looooong developement will lead to a pretty epic end (also I don't feel like it'll have a happy one), but right now it's kinda "meeeh"

Well, all this rant just to back my opinion and not to criticize for free^^
I sit back and let the story be told, I just wish it would be told more faster or intesively^^

Hé, well I just watched ep' 13, and I think this was the best episode so far

Iggy woke up screaming on the wrong side of the head (that's a reference to Strapping Young Lad)
A shame he dies so quickly after just starting to be an interesting character, but we're not in Chobits and there's no love-triangle with a droïd...
