They're not? Well FLCL is 7 years old so I'll blame old memory for that: :-p
Could I perhaps have been thinking of Steamboy instead...?

Well that may be strange to watch blame anime in CG, but I have much faith on production I.G. Looking forward to it!

I think it will be fine as a cg movie, as long as it has the quality of Advent Children. I am looking forward to seeing it.

Here you can see (barely) some pics of the new Blame! CG movie:
I would have prefer it to be an anime in the style of Gits2: Innocence, using tradicional animation mixed with some CG.
Still I have faith in this project with Production I.G. and Nihei himself involved.

thanks for the extra pics plug. Yeah, I have faith in the movie being CG. It wouldn't have been my first choice but I still think it should be awesome. Heck, I bet when it comes out, a game could follow considering it's been an interest of Nihei to make video games.

hmm in one way, I am really excited. In another, I am kinda disapointed. It may sound silly, but I had a dream of one day directing a live action BLAME movie. :/
I also thought that if anybody did a BLAME movie it would be Guillermo Del Toro, seeing as he is freakin amazing with stuff like this, and Nihei is a fan/friend of his.

A live action Blame! would make me sad. Quite simply, reality is simply too lacking in what a movie like Blame! would require.
Also, Killy is Killy. The last thing we need is a live actor to soil the character.

Oh damn.
This could be soo awesome, but it most likely won't be.
The world of Blame just calls for a movie adaption and seeing the different scenes in motion would be killer! But it's soo hard to get it right if people are involved who don't get the correct vibe from Nihei's work... :/
It's gonna kill the manga flair for sure
Manga is always better as it leaves room for interpretation for the reader to kinda mix the existing images with his own imagination and come up with a personal connection and feeling to/for the story. In a movie, everything is suggested and loses impact therefore.
Production IG is fine, yeah, but I hope they get a fitting CG look...

You guys think way to much about how it will look.
Who gives a shit. Its the story and characters that matters.

EXPRESSION is what matters, regardless of the medium.
A book should be well written as a manga should be well written and illustrated as an animation should be well written, illustrated and animated.
Anything that merits doing is worth doing right. Quality and success are judged by the sum of their parts.
