Our current policy (as it has been since Nihei started on vol.2 IIRC), is to only "translate" the SFXes in word balloons into rough western onomatopoetic equivalents. This most likely won't change in the future, but from now on I can provide a list of SFX and translations here if you wish (though sound effects are not my strongest suit).

I'm no expert on the subject, but "zudoo" sounds like the hull of the warship buckling and giving way to the force of the blast/pressure wave generated/deflected by Higaide's sword slash. I don't think the sword itself has any special properties, long-range attacks generated by sword slashes are pretty common in manga and animé.
