Red, in the beginning you didn't say that Blame! and Biomega are set in the same universe, you merely asked the question, but didn't answer it yourself until esper pointed this out,,, but hey, we now know that you do think it's the same universe,,,
I myself think that it COULD be the same universe, cause Toha is part of both stories,,, nihei came up with it (so no reference to another movie or whatever),,, in both stories they're kinda one and the same corporation,,, but that's like the only prove we have if we want to be sure that it's the same universe,,, But than again,,, It could also be that Nihei thought of Toha as such a cool corporation that he wanted to use it in Biomega as well, without it being in the same universe,,,
And using Nihei's style or aesthetics is no argument whatsoever, cause EVERY story he draws has his style and aesthetics,,,
About Abara,,, if the world was destroyed at the end of chapter 11, than no, abara couldn't be in the same universe as blame,,, if it wasn't destroyed, than yes, it could be part of it,,, now, was it destroyed or not?? It could be just as well that a piece of the earth broke off, or whatever,,,[/b]

I must admit I din't read all the posts
But what about this: In the recent scanlations of Biomega, the recreator was teleported into an unknown part of the universe, far away from earth (its definitely the earth in Biomega, as we know about the mars).
In Noise, the megastructure consumes the moon. Although Blame! only says "Maybe on earth", Noise is the official prequel to it and Jupiter would fit exactly into this empty space with the huge pillar. So lets say it is earth. That would make two completely different locations. Unless the recreator will be somehow reattached to earth later on, it can not be the core or spine of the later megastructure.

Even if the recreator didn't reattache to earth, this earth could still be same world or in the same universe as Blame! the recreator being the core or spine of the megastructureis just a guess,,,
and, the megastructure originated from earth, i do think so!! "maybe on earth, maybe in the future" is just something written by nihei because it sounded cool, haha!!
