Both manga has some similiarity ... chaotic extreme dark futuristic filled with cyber punk + extra gore.
I know Gunnm first, for several year I claimed Gunnm to be the best Manga.
but now I know Blame!, now I proudly claim, that :
BLAME! is the best manga !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone ?

I've been torn between the two for some time. I still haven't decided which I like more. Right now Yukito Kishiro is making Last Order, which is adding on to the story that he intended to have before he became sick. I think right now I'll just enjoy them both equally.

i collected every single manga of gunm (and the anime) since it began. after i moved out and had no money i had no way to get it and thus missed the ending. i finally read it on day in a book store and i can tell you i was sorely dissapointed in the ending (no brains?! c'mon!)
i like blame for its darkness and chaos. its nutty and you can read i over and over (i think im on my 20th re read) and still not understand it fully.
gunm was easy to understand but also easier to identify with the emotions and thought and growth of its characters.
i love them both for different reasons. although with the new gunm series out im actually kinda scared to get sucked back into it

I dunno, I mean both manga are really excellent.
and so totally different. You can't really compare the two. first of all, the drawings in gunnm are more kinda plain and stuff, but in BLAME! the drawings are really "different". I've never seen anything like that before.
IF I really had to choose I couldn't decide.
