As an animator i would love to see Killy and co on the big screen some time soon in a feature series of 2D animations and not the over speculated 3D clips that have been doing the rounds, give me the 2d LOG shorts any day. I know a lot of readers feel the manga is
best kept in paper and ink but just imagine an animator like Koji Morimoto "WOW".......one more thing do you guys feel the low dialog count in BLAME
would have issues translating over to film ?

I don't think that's a bad idea at all. And yes, I'd take 2-D over 3-D anyday. The CG would have to be something like Final Fantasy: Advent Children or Armored Core 4/For Answer to be enjoyable for me.
They would also have to make many movies. Almost 1 movie per book. Maybe change the intervals so that the film endings were more satisfying (i.e. End the first movie after Killy and Cibo team up against the president, Don't end one of the later movies at the scene when Killy and Cibo have Just disappeared and it cuts ahead several hours later to when Ivy screams 'Bastard!!' at Seu, etc.), I mean, this can work very well in manga volume form, but imo, not really with movies.
I think that it would come out extremely well if with an art director like Yuji Ikehata. Have you seen Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust?
If not, I highly recommend it.
The anime style is different to conventional anime in the way the people and faces are drawn in a way vaguely similar to Nihei's style.
The animation is always fluid and full of depth, tones and realistically appropriate colour. (Plus, Cyberpunk and Vampires...How can you go wrong with that?! ).
Anyway, just my 2 cents...

3D is so easy to mess up, i agree that it would have to be a top team of artists
to capture the look and feel of the BLAME, like the team that made Tekkonkinkreet, a movie that fully captured the soul and look of the Anime. As for 2D which is my preference for this movie, Yuji Ikehata is another great directer that's style would translate well but i would like Studio 4c to make it, my favorite studio.
In every remake bits get chopped and changed and adding timing to a story
is a hard thing to do in comics let alone movies so the random timing of BLAME would have to be sorted into clear past present and future, so even a
dumb ass like me would get the drift and jist of the story, all this would have to be done without losing the mystery and surprise factor, not fucking easy !:-?
PS, the Megastructure is so vast that time is crazy in BLAME,i think making this understood is key in any BLAME movie.

This idea is in my opinion the greatest one that appeared here (since some time i am reading it) I would like to help. I don't watch a lot of anime but enjoy reading Nihei manga ( I even started to learn japanese alphabet a little). Actually i wanted to show my blog that contains some of my side-during-the-classes project. I will post there some more of my work there soon. If someone would be in charge of the project and he likes me to draw something.... i am all yours. Sorry for my bad english btw.

I would love to help do the movie but i have to be real, i alone
couldn't do it! To do this movie justice you need a team of
artists(maybe 7 man or woman strong, with good vision and
skills with understanding of Nihei's style, I am working on
a few clips from LOG 1 but to say i am going to make BLAME
is beyond me"literally" I hope who ever makes this movie
does it justice !

Wow, I think this would be the best 2D anime ever. It's definitely what I've been waiting for forever to see (not the random, brightly colored 5-minute OVAs).
