So they found an insect on mars, which appeared to be a fossil, but came to life when in contact with moisture.
This insect had ovules in its body.

Also it was a host to parasitic microbes. These microbes adapted to human physiology and became the N5S virus, turning humans into drones.
Upon infection aging stops. The other side of the super efficient metabolizing cells is the loss of intellect and usually ugly transformations.

Reload secretes a pollen (like Yion Green). This pollen is the male aspect to the ovules. But they were both born on earth.
The material binding the pollen has unique properties - its the reverse imaging polymer.
This polymer was also found in the martian bug.
This Liquid reacts to the geometry of inanimate matter and restructures it.
All things affected by the polymer, be it buildings, electronic devices, or magnetic media are changed in accordance with some sort of code. The ovule ripens according to the wishes of the host (who or what s a host ?).

The question is: what is the connection between immortals, the ovules and the microbes ?

All Synthetic Humans have enhanced telepathic senses. Zouichi is seen straining in reaction to Narain's brainwave.

It could be that this combined with Narain's aberrant brain was what made him so powerful.

Also, I think it we are to infer that upon or soon after developing Pseudo-N5S, Wildenstein developed a cure but it needed things from Toh-a Heavy industries, etc. to work.
But then, this is never explained. :/
